2010

The band worked extremely hard to prepare for the British Championships in Manchester which included a weekend 'Masterclass' with the world renowned conductor and teacher, Dr Nicholas Childs of the Black Dyke Band.  Dr Childs was extremely impressed with the quality and commitment of the band.

In Manchester under the baton of their musical director, Mr Michael Robertson, the band achieved national success by winning the Advanced Section.

November 2010
The Carnoustie and District Youth Brass band, who won the top honours last year for the first time when they were crowned Scottish Youth Champions repeated the result this year. The band, which has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2008, has made its way straight to the top of youth brass and is now recognised as one of the top youth bands in Britain.

The band continues to rehearse and perfect their musical repertoire in the hope of further success in the future.

2009

2009 saw the band head back to Manchester, this time competing in the 'Advanced Section' once again under the baton of Mr Richard Evans.  The band narrowly missed winning by what was said to be a quarter of a point.  The second place only inspired and encouraged the young members of the band to work harder and achieve more.

It was a return to Perth in November 2009 that the band won its greatest honour to date.  The band won 1st place in the 'Premier Section' (Gold Award) under the baton of the bands musical director, Mr Michael Robertson.  The success to date has been extraordinary having only started three years previously to win the most prestigious prize in Scottish Youth banding.

2008

In 2008 the band gained a very creditable 4th place in the Community Section (Gold Award) at the British Youth Brass Band Championships held in Manchester under the baton of Mr Richard Evans.

Later in the year the band travelled to Perth to compete again in the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships this time competing in the Senior Section.  The band, with a great performance, won their section (Gold Award) and were crowned 'Scottish Senior Youth Brass Band Champions'.

2007

The band first competed under the auspices of Angus Schools Brass Band in the Development Section at the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships held in Perth, which they won gaining a Gold Award.

For a number of reasons including financially, organisationally and musically, the bands' committee took the decision to organise, fund and support the band privately.  Along with this change the band name was changed to the Carnoustie and District Youth Brass Band.  Under this name the band has gained an awesome reputation for high standards in music.
